Educating Minds for Success

Our School Admission Policy

Admission is entirely at the discretion of the school administration, which reserves the right to accept or refuse any child without explanation. Admission takes place at the beginning of the school year. Admission is offered to newly evaluated applicants, based on their creditable performance in the entrance examination.

Application forms for Early Childhood Development Centre (Creche), Kindergarten through to Primary, are available. Everding Montessori School does not enroll students in JHS. Parents and guardians may pick up an application at the school office or contact the numbers given on the form.

In the exception of preschoolers (ECDC), all applicants, including the kindergarten, are given specified schedules for competitive entrance examinations. This is followed by interview sections for both prospective pupil(s)/student(s) and their parents/guardians to determine academic readiness (pupils/students), commitment, and ability to meet the needs of the applicants (parents/guardians).

The school does not have specialized facilities or personnel to work with pupils/students who have significant learning differences. The school will evaluate students with learning difficulties on a case-by-case basis with respect to the school’s ability to provide those pupils/students a quality education. The school may deny enrollment to a pupil/student if it determines, at its sole discretion, that it cannot adequately serve the needs of an applicant.

Placement of an applicant in a particular class is determined by his/her age and the passing of the entrance examination. The following is the breakdown for the ages per the class: Creche: 2 years old; Nursery One: 3 years old; Nursery Two: 4 years old; Kindergarten: 5 years old; Primary One: 6 years old; Primary Two: 7 years old; Primary Three: 8 years old; Primary Four: 9 years old; Primary Five: 10 years old; and Primary Six: 11 years old.

Mid-Stream Admissions

The school admits learners midstream, but this is subject to the availability of a vacancy in the class needed. However, should there be space for admission, the child is made to write an entrance exam for the class he/she is seeking.

Required Forms and Fees For admission, parents are required to present:

i. Application form and registration fee (to be determined yearly by the accounts department).

ii. Photocopy of applicant’s birth certificate and health insurance

Evidence of compliance with immunization requirements for preschoolers (e.g., weighing card)
